The Red Deer Lacrosse Association (RDLA) is proud to recognize two of its athletes, Gavin Roth and Dylan Turner, on their selection to the Team Alberta U17 Male Field Lacrosse Team.
Roth and Turner, both members of the U17A Red Deer Chiefs and coached by Darren Kinnear, have earned the opportunity to represent Alberta on the national stage. Gavin Roth has been named to the official team roster and will compete in the Alumni Cup, held this summer in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he will play a key role on the team’s defensive unit. Dylan Turner has been selected as a red shirt athlete, and will train with the team throughout the season as part of its extended roster.
“This is a proud moment for the RDLA and a reflection of the incredible dedication these athletes have put into the sport,” said Amy Cozens, President of the Red Deer Lacrosse Association. “We are committed to developing strong, skilled players through our program and Gavin and Dylan’s selection to Team Alberta shows just how far that commitment can take them. On behalf of our entire lacrosse community, we celebrate this milestone and can’t wait to cheer them on.”
As the RDLA Riverdawgs Field Lacrosse season gears up to begin the first week of July, Roth and Turner serve as inspiring examples of what can be achieved through field lacrosse. Their accomplishments will no doubt motivate younger athletes across the program and demonstrate the exciting opportunities that the sport can offer.
The RDLA takes great pride in seeing local athletes succeed at the provincial level. Roth and Turner’s selection is not only a personal achievement, but also a celebration of the growth and talent within the Red Deer lacrosse community.
